Big Wood Residence – Sun Valley, Idaho
Local vernacular and a minimalist concept drove the design of this house, situated just south of Sun Valley, Idaho
Local vernacular and a minimalist concept drove the design of this house, situated just south of Sun Valley, Idaho. This residence for Mark de Reus and his family sits in an aspen forest alongside the Big Wood River, below Carbonate Mountain on a seven-acre property.
The vision for this 3,760 S.F. home was one of a simple barn with the feel of a modern cabin on the inside. The living areas are within a two-story gable form, and an engaged flat-roof structure contains the garage, storage, and terrace.
