Nawi Island

On the Boards

Hired to assist with master planning and develop design concepts for this eco-resort in Fiji, our approach is one of creating a variety of architectural experiences across the building types. The Yacht Club located on the smaller Korovesa Island will be a rustic organic direction; on Nawi Island, a more structured layout of thatched roof buildings organizes the hotel, and a more island contemporary vernacular responds to the market for livability needs with the single family for-sale residences.

This remote island development was designed as an environmental and culturally responsible resort community, incorporating passive recreational opportunities. The fact the resort shares the intimate bay with the small community of Savu, creates a unique sense of place: one of exotic remoteness simultaneously integrated into the established seaside community.
