Located alongside an 1801 lava flow that spilled into the South Kohala coast of Hawaii, this four bedroom home has been designed as modern island architecture.

On a property just over an acre in size, the home is organized as a series of interlocking separate pavilions oriented toward the glancing Kona coastline to the south.

Finish materials selected for their durability as well as their contribution to the modern aesthetic and elegant sense of restraint, include zinc roof shingles, black aluminum doors and window frames, steel columns, integral colored plaster, and various stone finishes. Interior finish materials include travertine stone floors and walls, teak millwork, granite countertops, and veneer plaster walls.
